Since the age of thirteen I have been writing. In 2007 I set my mind to writing as a career and have been working hard and have been writing non-stop all year. Most of my work has been penned in the past year and a half. I am currently submitting to publishers and agents waiting for The Call. During my wait for responses I keep writing. I have read Matchmakers... and let me tell you YOU WILL NEED A BOX OF KLEENEX!! I could not stop crying from the joy of this book!! You start to not like Carissa, then you fall in love with her! The strength that Bernadette gives this amazing seventeen year old that could outshine most thirty-somethings is impressive! I am glad my laptop survived all my tears! And how both Sophie and Carissa find themselves in music is so beautiful, and of course the love that never died with Sophie and David even with ten years apart from the other! I LOVE MATCHMAKERS! I am so hopeful it gets published and will reread, reread, reread and reread! Way to go Bernadette!

I just finished reading Matchmakers. Every woman regardless of age will be able to relate to one of the 4 main women in this book. There will be times where you might see your self in more than just one. I loved how Bernadette used the universal language of music to heal wounds and allow love a chance. David is a strong man. He does the right thing at the expense of the possibility costing him everything he ever wanted. Carissa is a seventeen year old who has wisdom beyond her years due to the life experience she has witnessed. She is an amazing character whom I hope to see grow-up in the future. Millie and Katie are grandmothers or aunts everyone wished they had growing up. Many women who have that one special friend will be able to relate to those two old women and laugh until you cry. Sophia is the woman all of us have been at one time or another. I LOVE this book! I look forward to seeing it published.

Move over Catherine Coulter, there’s a new author in town and it look like she is here to stay! In Matchmakers, Bernadette Marie skillfully mixes wit and humor with surprising plot twists and turns and colorful and engaging characters along with a romance so hot it burns the pages to create a story that you simply can’t put down. As we see Sophia Burkhalter’s neat, clean and solitary world begin to unravel as she comes face-to-face with her last and only true love, David Kendal; we can’t help but to cheer on the “matchmakers” in her life and hope that this time she takes a risk and learns to trust and truly love. Page by page our affection grows for the characters until we just can’t stand for the story to end.
